Veronica Young

Veronica approaches her work with a photographer’s interest in light and composition but unlike a photograph her paintings present the viewer with a more complex perspective of the landscape.

Veronica’s aim is not to capture a static landscape but to present nature as a creative force, endlessly shifting and changing over time. The weather, the light, the vegetation, even the landforms in flux; as they are over the course of a day or a year. Landforms emerge and then fade again through a collection of abstract marks, subtle texture, and enigmatic light.
