Raewyn Harris is a Napier artist and primary school teacher. She paints in watercolours to create her artworks, a medium that constantly challenges and delights her.
While exploring the use of watercolour paints, pastels and charcoal, her inspiration is taken from the landscape and the people who live in and love New Zealand. The colours and patterns of nature provide a rich source of ideas for her artwork.
The beauty, natural rhythms and seasonal colours of the New Zealand landscape inspire Raewyn’s artworks and she strives to evoke a feeling of tranquility and simplicity in her paintings. A close connection with the land and a concern for the fragility of our environment motivates her.
Raewyn’s paintings have been purchased for private art collections in London, Paris, USA, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. They have also been exhibited in galleries in Hawke’s Bay, Auckland, Russell, Wellington and TaupÅ.
