Karen Hamilton-Smith is a Wellington artist who paints in a slightly quirky and abstracted style, weaving allegoric elements through richly layered patinas. Her style is described as bold and warm.
Her themes span a wide gamut – from fresh, memory-evoking seascapes; nostalgic objects of old; the powerful and summoning world of music; and families of small paintings which breathe and tell stories in our lives.
Karen Hamilton-Smith has exhibited for over fifteen years. Her work is held by corporate and private art collections in New Zealand and overseas.
