It was the encouragement of a kindergarten teacher that led Jason Megchelse into the world of art.
From cartoon characters in the margins of his school books, to a degree in Media Arts, Jason has experimented with a range of modes and media. His current work brings the unnoticed and abandoned patterns, geometries, and shapes of popular culture to the fore.
Jason’s latest pieces explore how shape, line, and colour work together to create symbols. He enjoys playing with the tension between abstraction/realism and the newly created/ready-made meanings of these symbols.
