Lee-Ann Dixon collects and paints on silver trays and other collected treasures.
Lee-Ann’s work reflects an ongoing theme concerning her identity in relation to motherhood and domesticity. Her ideas are always evolving as she grows older and life changes.
Currently, Lee-Ann’s work is still about motherhood, but it is about her late mother. Her mother’s china cabinet was full of treasures she had collected throughout her life, all having her special memories attached to them.
Lee-Ann collects and uses treasures that she finds at recycling centres and in garage sales, and breathes new life into the once loved objects.
Lee-Ann has a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology.
