Based in New Plymouth, Donna O’Donoghue works as a full-time artist. From her window she has a stunning view of Mt Taranaki, which inspires her in her studio.
She is a digital and mixed media, self-taught artist and the owner of Altered Image Studios. Although she works with a variety of mediums her favourites are resin, paper, clay and wood. She also enjoys spending countless hours creating digital works with Photoshop.
Donna loves sharing her passion for creating and teaches a wide range of mixed media techniques both in New Plymouth and around the country. She enjoys making images that make people smile, that they can take away with them for a moment or two.
Donna has exhibited as a single wall artist at the New Zealand Art Show for the past nine years, and regularly exhibits her digital work in various shows throughout New Zealand. The body of Donna’s work is contemporary photo surrealism. As a digital compositor, Donna has the unique ability of bringing humour and a slight quirkiness into her images. She also works with resin and colour creating large abstract pieces.
